DOWNLOADNew McGregor Primary SchoolSchematic Design PresentationClick Here ToOn May 11, 2013, voters in McGregor ISD overwhelmingly supported a bond election to fund the construction of a new primary school campus, additions and renovations to McGregor High School and security improvements at McGregor Elementary and Isbill Junior High.

The new McGregor Primary School will house Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade students and will be located next to the existing McGregor Elementary School. The new building will accommodate approximately 350 students initially, with the ability to expand to a maximum design capacity of 500 as the district and campus grow. The building’s core spaces, such as the cafetorium, kitchen, activity room and library are sized for the maximum design, so that the only expansion necessary in the future will be classrooms.

The existing drive between the elementary school and what will be the new primary school will be removed to create a covered pedestrian walkway between the two campuses.

The parent pick-up and drop-off lane will be extended around the new primary school and connect with the existing drive on the north side of the elementary school, and the bus drop-off lane will also be extended. A new parking lot will be constructed on the north side of the campus to serve both schools.

The new McGregor Primary School will be constructed with similar materials to match the elementary school. The main entry canopy is designed to give the primary school its own identity, while providing a consistent overall campus feel.
